Share

MarqVision Inc., a Los Angeles-based startup specializing in AI-powered intellectual property (IP) protection, has raised 22 billion won ($16.5 million) in its latest funding round, bringing its Series A total to 50 billion won. The round included contributions from new investors such as Altos Ventures, Smilegate Investment, and Hillspring Investment, alongside existing backers like Y Combinator Management LLC and Atinum Investment.

Founded in 2020 by South Korean Harvard Law School graduate Mark Lee, MarqVision has quickly expanded its global footprint, with support from luxury conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH).

In addition to its growth, MarqVision recently unveiled a new product, Marq AI. This generative AI solution is designed to enhance the company’s existing IP protection services, which focus on counterfeit goods (Marq Commerce) and digital piracy (Marq Content). By leveraging AI, Marq AI significantly reduces both the cost and time associated with brand and IP protection.

Key features of Marq AI include a conversational assistant, intelligent dashboards, automated copyright workflows, and smart enforcement tools. The conversational assistant scans and analyzes messages across multiple platforms and languages, detecting counterfeit sales with over 99% accuracy. Meanwhile, the intelligent dashboards provide detailed insights into why specific items are flagged. The platform’s automation capabilities streamline the entire copyright enforcement process, from data collection to sending infringement notices.
