HubSpot Bags Cacheflow: Streamlining Sales, One Acquisition at a Time

Share

Big news from HubSpot! The marketing and sales software giant has just made another exciting move to expand its capabilities by acquiring Cacheflow, a startup that’s all about making software sales easier and faster. While the price tag is still under wraps, it’s clear that Cacheflow’s expertise in subscription billing and configure, price, quote (CPQ) tools will give a big boost to HubSpot’s Commerce Hub. This is all part of HubSpot’s ongoing mission to provide better tools for sales and revenue automation.

Cacheflow Joins the HubSpot Family

HubSpot CEO Yamini Rangan couldn’t hide her excitement about the acquisition. She emphasized that Cacheflow will become an integral part of HubSpot’s Commerce Hub. Rangan said, “With Cacheflow, we’re doubling down on our vision for commerce by addressing two crucial areas of the buying experience: subscription billing and CPQ.” In other words, this move is all about making it easier for businesses to streamline their sales processes and grow faster.

Cacheflow was founded in 2021 by Brian Zotter and Sarika Garg, two industry veterans who set out to tackle the complexities of B2B software sales. Garg previously led product management at SAP’s Ariba Network, while Zotter was a VP of engineering at Salesforce. Together, they launched Cacheflow with a mission: simplify B2B software sales through automation and better customer engagement.

A Closer Look at Cacheflow’s Impact

So what exactly does Cacheflow do? At its core, Cacheflow offers billing and subscription management tools that make buying and selling B2B software way less complicated. Their no-code dashboards let users configure quotes, close deals, and even upsell and renew customer subscriptions—all without a ton of manual work. It’s all about making sales management more efficient and getting businesses paid faster.

Before joining HubSpot, Cacheflow had already made a mark, working with about a dozen clients and growing a small but mighty team of 16 employees. They managed to raise $16 million from investors like GGV’s Glenn Solomon and Google’s venture arm, GV, with the goal of rethinking the traditional CPQ and billing process.

“We believe deeply in the power of our solution, and we’re thrilled to join HubSpot to expand its impact,” said Sarika Garg. The Cacheflow team will be fully integrated into HubSpot’s Commerce Hub, where they’ll focus on making buying processes even smoother for customers.

Commerce Hub’s Bright Future

This acquisition comes at an exciting time for HubSpot’s Commerce Hub, which has already processed over $1 billion in gross merchandise value since it launched in 2023. According to investment firm Stifel, this move shows HubSpot’s continued focus on expanding Commerce Hub, with hints of a potential relaunch that could generate even more buzz—much like what they did with their Sales and Content Hubs.

A Year of Change for HubSpot

The Cacheflow acquisition caps off a pretty eventful year for HubSpot. Earlier, there were reports that Google was considering buying HubSpot for tens of billions of dollars, but that fell through, possibly due to regulatory concerns. On top of that, HubSpot faced a data breach in June, affecting a small number of customer accounts—a notable incident given that they serve over 216,000 corporate clients.

This is HubSpot’s first acquisition since purchasing B2B data provider Clearbit for $150 million in 2023. By bringing Cacheflow’s innovative tools into Commerce Hub, HubSpot is positioning itself as an even more valuable partner for businesses looking to streamline their sales and revenue management processes.

Conclusion

HubSpot’s acquisition of Cacheflow shows just how committed they are to expanding their commerce solutions and making life easier for businesses of all sizes. With Cacheflow’s expertise, HubSpot is set to take its CPQ and subscription billing tools to the next level, helping clients streamline their buying experiences. We’re excited to see how this partnership shapes HubSpot’s future and strengthens its role in the evolving world of sales automation.
